Mad Casino tournaments: how the leaderboards work
Affiliate guide, not operated by Mad Casino · disclosure
Tournaments turn ordinary slot play into a race for a prize pool. The formats change, but the mechanics repeat, and those are worth understanding before you opt in.
Common formats
Mad Casino runs time-limited tournaments on selected slots, usually from a single studio, with a leaderboard updated live. Some run for a weekend, others for a full week. The current list, including the eligible games and the prize pool, is on the tournaments tab of the operator’s lobby. We do not reproduce prize figures here because they change with every event.
How scores are counted
Leaderboards generally score in one of three ways: the single biggest multiplier hit on one spin, the total amount won, or points per qualifying spin. The first rewards luck on a single spin and suits small stakes, because a 500x hit on a €0.20 spin scores the same as on a €5 spin. The second rewards volume, which favours players with large balances. Read the scoring rule before you opt in; it tells you whether the event is worth your time at your stake level.
Prizes
Prizes may be paid as cash, bonus funds or free spins, and bonus prizes carry their own wagering. The tournament terms state which applies, along with a minimum qualifying stake and any requirement to opt in before spins start to count.
What to check
- Opt-in: many events only count spins after you press the join button.
- Minimum stake per spin to qualify.
- Whether bonus-funded spins count.
- How ties are broken and when prizes are credited.
A leaderboard is built to make you play longer. Decide your budget for the event before you look at your position on it.
